Khushi means happiness, joy, or delight. From Persian خوشی (khushī), derived from خوش (khush) meaning pleasant or glad. In romantic Urdu poetry, a lover's joy is inseparable from the beloved's happiness — here the poet states that any happiness without the beloved is meaningless, a common trope of selfless devotion.
